Action Comics #454
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFew covers from 1975 capture a predicament quite like this one: Superman, surrounded by a towering mountain of hamburgers outside a McDonald's, desperately chomping and gulping his way through the pile while pleading for more, as a line of alarmed waitresses rushes tray after tray to keep up with his impossible appetite. Bob Oksner's cover art plays the absurdity perfectly — the Man of Steel reduced to begging fast food employees not to let him "starve to death" is genuinely funny and immediately compelling. Cary Bates writes and Curt Swan pencils the interior, with inks by Tex Blaisdell, and this issue also comes packed with a bonus Atom story — solid value for a quarter.
