Action Comics #39
Part of DC's New 52 line, Action Comics #39 presents a genuinely unsettling cover by Aaron Kuder: a wild-eyed, bearded Superman floats at the center of a ring of eerily animated children, their glowing eyes and eerie grins set against a dark, shadowy void. The image strikes a delicate balance between protector and something far more ominous, making it hard to look away. With Greg Pak writing and Scott Kolins joining Kuder on interior art, "Under the Skin" promises plenty of compelling strangeness beneath its striking exterior.
