“Born in Flames”

Part of DC's 2013 "Villains Month" event under the New 52 banner, this issue puts Cyborg Superman front and center in chilling fashion. Aaron Kuder's cover depicts the half-flesh, half-machine figure looming dominantly in the Superman suit, his cybernetic spider-like appendages coiling outward while a battered, struggling Superman writhes in the foreground — all set against an ominous green circuit-board background. "Born in Flames" promises a story that digs into one of the Man of Steel's most unsettling doppelgängers, with writer Michael Alan Nelson and artist Mike Hawthorne bringing it to life.
