In "The Speed of Life," Clark grapples with the growing limits of his powers as Martha worries over his rapidly worn-out suits, all while he nervously anticipates a date with Lana, unsure of her feelings. Meanwhile, as Superboy, he tracks down the escaped villain Raze, drawing the attention of Captain Comet and General Lane, who each have their own plans for the young hero.
