When Task Force X tries to steal the Genesis artifact from Atlantis, it triggers an international incident that brings the United States and Atlantis to the brink of war. As the Justice League decides how to intervene, Superman asks the League to accompany him to Warworld to free the surviving Kryptonian refugees. Later, as Superman tries to defuse the situation with Atlantis, back at the Fortress Lois learns the truth about Thao-La and her companions and their secret agenda.
