A Date with Judy #44

Based on the beloved radio and television property, this December–January 1954 DC issue drops Judy right into the middle of a football-field social drama. The cover shows a group of cheerleaders in matching white sweaters and red pleated skirts, while a freckled young man holding a football leans in for what looks like a very awkward romantic moment — all while a bemused Judy looks on from the title banner above, and a speech bubble pleads, "But, Judy, you WANTED me to be a touchdown hero!" It's a perfectly charming slice of mid-fifties teen comedy that captures everything fans of the "coast to coast favorite" came to love.
