The Vietnam War's undead nightmare continues in this opening chapter of '68 Scars, the first of four issues from writer Mark Kidwell and artist Nat Jones. Nat Jones' cover delivers an immediate gut-punch: a rotting, glowing-eyed zombie soldier rises from a blood-soaked ground, its military helmet stenciled with "RIVER RAT" and dark fluid streaking down its decomposing face as tall reeds loom behind it. It's a striking image that sets a grim, atmospheric tone for what promises to be another harrowing plunge into the zombie-infested jungles of 1968.
