“Chameleon 2099”

Spider-Man 2099 crouches with cool authority on a stone ledge in this tenth issue of Marvel's anthology series, his vivid blue-and-red suit commanding the foreground while a swirling, flame-like energy phenomenon glows behind him in the night sky. Jim Fern's pencils and Scott Koblish's inks give the figure a satisfying solidity, with the spider emblem rendered in bold red across his chest and the ornate architectural stonework behind him adding a sense of scale and grandeur. Inside, Nancy Collins scripts "Chameleon 2099" with art by Gary Erskine — a strong creative team bringing fresh energy to Marvel's far-future line.
