Judge Dredd strides forward on this July 1980 cover of 2000 AD and Tornado Prog 168, enormous Lawgiver raised and a cool "Any Questions?" speech bubble daring anyone to challenge him — all rendered with sharp authority by cover artist Mike McMahon. The rubble-strewn ground spells out "TRY ME" beneath his boots, a perfectly blunt piece of street-level bravado that sums up Dredd's attitude in two words. Inside, the anthology continues with talent including Carlos Ezquerra and Harry Harrison, making this a fine snapshot of British comics firing on all cylinders in 1980.
