2000 AD #915

A memorably unsettling cover greets readers of this 1994 Fleetway anthology, with Jim McCarthy's artwork depicting a grotesque, bloodied figure — badges pinned to his chest, a knife clutched in one hand — looming over a much smaller, terrified person in a red hoodie. The cover tease "Nerd of Prey! Death by Trainspotter in Bik Barton" sets a darkly comedic tone that 2000 AD does so well, while the header also promises Judge Dredd, Red Razors, Skizz, and Button Man inside. Prog 915 is a fine snapshot of British comics firing on all cylinders in the mid-nineties.
