2000 AD #839

This June 1993 prog from Fleetway's long-running British anthology poses a dramatic question right on the cover: "Larsen's Last Stand?" — with a blonde figure in a striking magenta uniform, pistol in hand, standing defiantly against a backdrop of lightning, flames, and an ominous dark shape looming overhead. Cover artist Paul Marshall gives the scene real atmosphere, with that crimson sky and crackling electricity lending an unmistakable sense of crisis. Inside, the prog features "Trial by Firekind" and the third chapter of "Muzak Killer: Live!" — written by Garth Ennis with art, inks, and colors by Dermot Power and lettering by Annie Parkhouse — making this a solid entry in 2000 AD's 1993 Summer Offensive.
