This September 1991 prog of 2000 AD featuring Judge Dredd arrives with one of the more unsettling cover images of its era: a rubbery, wide-eyed face dominates the frame, a tangle of wires and a mechanical apparatus burrowing directly into the top of the skull while electrical bolts crackle around the ears — perfectly matching the tagline "Thrill-Power Overload! The Effect Is Shattering!" Inside, Garth Ennis scripts "The Vidders" with art, inks, and colors all from Chris Weston, lettered by Tom Frame. Richard Dolan's cover pencils and inks deliver something genuinely visceral — a portrait that's equal parts darkly comic and deeply strange, very much in the spirit of 2000 AD at its most inventive.
