2000 AD #695

Ron Smith's cover for 2000 AD Prog 695 (8 September 1990) is a genuinely unsettling close-up of a snarling, fang-filled creature — wild-eyed, matted-haired, and roaring straight at the reader — perfectly suited to the teaser "Something Rotten in the Caverns of Colony 5." Alongside the Judge Dredd feature and a new Chronos Carnival story, this issue also continues "Necropolis," with John Wagner writing and Carlos Ezquerra handling art, inks, and color throughout. It's a nicely packed prog, and that cover face alone is enough to make you want to read it somewhere brightly lit.
