Prog 490 of 2000 AD — dated 4 October 1986 and proudly billed as an "Explosive Bumper Issue" — puts Judge Dredd front and center, gun in hand, squaring off against a suited figure as a glowing, pinball-like sphere ricochets between them, with "BOING" sound effects bouncing across the cover in true Robin Smith style. The "Pin Boing Replay" logo makes it clear that Mega-City One's bounciest menace is very much back in play, and the chaotic energy of the scene captures everything that makes this weekly anthology so reliably entertaining.
