2000 AD #451

Ringing in 1986 with a "Happy New Year!" banner, 2000 AD Prog 451 features a cover by Ian Gibson that drops us into a wonderfully grim alien tavern scene. At the center sits a young, shaggy-haired woman in armored gear, nursing a drink and looking thoroughly unimpressed, while a raucous crowd of grotesque aliens and oddities carouses behind her — a large serpentine creature, goblin-like figures, and a prominently labeled bottle of "Catsblood" completing the atmosphere. The cover bills this as "The Ballad of Halo Jones," written by Alan Moore, promising that whatever kind of day it is, it's definitely a Catsblood kind of day.
