Prog 318 of 2000 AD hits the streets of Mega-City One with a cover by Ron Smith that crackles with mayhem — a red-jacketed perp triumphantly brandishes a massive weapon while a beleaguered Judge Dredd is mobbed by a crowd of jubilant criminals, and an enormous gun barrel looms threateningly from the right with the taunt "You're Next, Dredd!" blaring nearby. The story banner promises "The Stupid Gun!" — whatever that weapon does, it's clearly bad news for the Law. A wonderfully chaotic snapshot of 1983 2000 AD at its rowdy, irreverent best.
