2000 AD Prog 1804 announces Jack's return to Angeltown with a cover that drips atmosphere — a weary, green-haired figure with a clown's red nose slumps at a desk, a bottle of risky whiskey clutched in one hand and a revolver resting within reach of the other, smoke curling from a nearby ashtray under a dim desk lamp. The cover pencils and inks by Cliff Robinson perfectly set a mood of hard-boiled exhaustion with a darkly comic edge.
