The cover of Prog 1736 makes an immediate impression: Jack Dancer charges forward with sword raised and pistol blazing, a pair of snarling dogs at his heels, while ranks upon ranks of armored soldiers stretch endlessly behind him — it's a striking image of one man leading a full metal army into conflict. Cliff Robinson's pencils and inks give the scene real kinetic energy, with the massed troops rendered in impressive, almost overwhelming detail. This 2011 issue of 2000 AD also features "The Pusher," brought to life by the complete creative team of Alan Grant, Peter Doherty, and letterer Annie Parkhouse — solid reason to seek out this prog.
