This 2011 prog from Rebellion pits a determined, sword-wielding figure — Spartacus — against a towering, beast-headed creature in heavy mechanical armour, its clawed hands reaching forward with menacing intent. The cover tagline "Horror of the Hangman!" and the promise of a "phantasmagorical fiend" set a deliciously Gothic tone, all rendered with sharp, dynamic linework by cover artist Jon Davis-Hunt. Inside, Michael Carroll, Bryan Talbot, and collaborators deliver "Caterpillars," making this a fine package from one of British comics' most enduring weekly anthologies.
