A fireball erupts across the cover of 2000 AD Prog 1563 as a grey-skinned, red-jacketed figure — Finnigan — hurls himself forward through the inferno, chain in one hand and a blazing minigun in the other, purple-tinted shades framing a snarling expression that means serious business. Simon Davis's painted cover art captures that raw, kinetic energy the weekly anthology does so well, promising the "5 Future Thrills" inside — including John Wagner and Carl Critchlow's Mandroid: Instrument of War Part 9. If this 2007 issue's cover is anything to go by, Finnigan's minigun is most definitely spitting hot lead.
