2000 AD #1354

This August 2003 issue of 2000 AD (Prog 1354) delivers one of the weekly anthology's more darkly comic covers: a grey-haired woman bound tightly with thick rope to a tree, her red scarf trailing dramatically, deadpanning "This is, like, sooooooooooo embarrassing…" The cover tagline — "Becky's staked out for the Slug God" — and the bold "Slime to Die!" logo give the whole thing a wonderfully grim-yet-sardonic flavour, rendered with real expressiveness by cover artist Simon Davis. Inside, John Wagner writes and Charlie Adlard illustrates "The Satanist Part 5," with colours by Chris Blythe and lettering by Tom Frame — a strong creative lineup for any 2000 AD fan to sink into.
