The concluding chapter of this eight-issue Vertigo miniseries from Azzarello and Risso goes out with striking visual force, and Dave Johnson's cover — signed right there in the corner — makes a vivid statement all on its own. A fierce face adorned with elaborate Día de los Muertos sugar-skull markings dominates the composition, flanked by two skulls and anchored by a pair of crossed shotguns beneath the bold proclamation "¡El Perro Loco!" The colors of the Mexican flag frame everything in green and red, giving this final issue the feel of a pulp poster and a dark folktale all at once.
