100 Bullets: Brother Lono #3
Part three of Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso's 100 Bullets spinoff brings Lono front and center on a cover by Dave Johnson — the big, cigar-chomping antihero dual-wielding pistols while a tiny chihuahua clings to his chest, all set against a burst-pattern background bristling with skull-and-crossbones motifs. The pulpy, almost vintage-poster aesthetic perfectly captures the series' sun-baked Mexican noir atmosphere, with the chapter title ¡El Amor de los Muertos! splashed boldly across the image. For fans of hard-edged Vertigo crime fiction, this 2013 issue delivers exactly the kind of charged, dangerous energy the series promises.
