This six-time Eisner Award–winning series by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso arrives in a handsome Deluxe Edition format with Book IV, subtitled "The Calm." Dave Johnson's cover arranges a striking tableau of hard-edged faces — a brooding man in a suit at upper right, a cigarette-smoking figure at center, and two more weathered portraits below — all orbiting a cool, poised blonde woman at the heart of the composition, with a raptor and the Roman Colosseum looming in the background. The *Chicago Sun-Times* called it "one of the greatest works of crime fiction in any medium," and a cover this richly layered, published in 2016, makes it easy to understand why.
