What you’re looking at

This page contains short satirical jokes and social commentary typical of 1920s humor magazines. The content includes: **Farmer's critique**: A joke mocking magazine criticism—a farmer complains the Whiz Bang contains "bunk" but admits he's unqualified to judge, yet can recognize poor quality ("rotten egg"). **KKK reference**: A dark joke about the Ku Klux Klan expanding into a "4-Karat Kombination" using slurs for Black people, Jewish people, Catholics, and poor whites—satirizing the Klan's bigotry and alliteration obsession. **Youth morality joke**: A reckless young man deflates an elder's warning about burning the candle at both ends by quipping he's lengthening his nights instead—trivializing wasteful living. **Society gossip**: A brief New York social note mocking high society. **One-liner punchlines**: Including crude sexual humor about divorce and a diamond discovery joke. The overall tone is cynical, irreverent, and occasionally offensive by any standard, reflecting 1920s satirical magazine conventions.
