George Three hesitated. It was a full five feet. The other building was about a foot higher than this one. But the girl beckoned him with a smile. He leaped and managed to gain a footing. Church. Churches meant re- ligion. That was what you saw if you stayed up very late at night and watched the viewer programmes. He had done so one night when he couldn’t go to sleep.
