What you’re looking at

This is **not political satire** but rather a **corporate advertisement** for Fisher Body Corporation, a major automotive body manufacturer. The page features an elegant illustration of well-dressed passengers in a luxury automobile interior, positioned above the text "FISHER BODIES." The advertisement's argument is fundamentally about **quality and exclusivity**: Fisher Body claims to supply bodies only to elite motor manufacturers who have already achieved success, suggesting that using Fisher bodies is both a marker and consequence of automotive excellence. The text emphasizes that Fisher's reputation for quality (not quantity) drives demand from prestigious car makers, creating a mutually-reinforcing cycle of prestige. The "emblem—Body by Fisher" functioned as a luxury badge, similar to modern branding. This represents early 20th-century automobile marketing emphasizing craftsmanship and association with success.

WHEN you hear it said that the Fisher Body Corporation is the world’s largest body ilder, please remember that its product is under the con- tract to a few motor car man- ufacturers. Recall who these few are, and you will at once realize why Fisher bodies are far more famed for leadership in quality than for the greater number of bodies produced. , v Automobiles with Bodies by Fisher represent every price class, but of all of them one general statement is undeni- ably true: Cars with Fisher bodies are, without exception, known to the American public, and all over the world, as unmistak- ably the leaders in their various classes. The fact that they are so recog- nized creates the huge demand for them; and, as a direct result, makes the Fisher Body Corporation the largest builder of motor car bodies. vs, v Tt would be an amazing coinci- dence, if Fisher body “just hap- pened” to be used by those motor car makers who have achieved pronounced and con- spicuoussuccess in theirvarious fields—but chance has had nothing to do with it. The samehighstandards which placed Fisher body users in positions ofoutstandingleader- ship, led them to select Fisher bodies in the first place. On the other hand, the Fisher Body Corporation could not be serving these successful manufacturers today, did itnot know that their cars are sub- stantial, long-lived products, worthy of the Fisher bodies which so importantly increase their value and desirability.
