To the average de- ssitor the bank officials are nothing but names; while the ren behind the bronze grills are mere aut a, which cept or dispense money with all the cold accuracy and wck of personal interest of any other sort of machine Chis unpleasant phase of banking would be eliminated if vanks should gradually promote their stern-visaged cashiers and tellers, and replace them with beautiful young women, rimarily chosen for regularity of feature, sunniness of nile and excellence of figure. Under such conditions, the ct of going to the bank would become a pleasure instead ia duty. The number of depositors would increase by caps and bounds. The young women, of course, would narry wealthy depositors before their beauty had begun to fade, and could be replaced by others younger and even nore beautiful. The whole effect would be genial and bene- ficial. From the standpoint of the depositor, it is difficult to understand why this reform wasn’t instituted long ago.
