The play opened on the same night that Walter Hampden showed “The Light of Asia” at his theatre in upper Broadway. Prof. Hampden, doubtless believing himself a finer actor than I reported him to be, refrained from sending me tickets to his performance. In view of my colleague's report upon both The Light of Asia” and Mr. Hampden’s histrionic share in it and in further view of the play and performance I got to see in their stead, it would seem that I owe Mr. Hampden a vote of thanks. “He Everytuine,” to con- | tinue the unwonted expan siveness of this department, is a gay musical show.
