The Frog Prince °E upon a time there was a king who had three daughters and every one of them a wow. But times was hard so one of them went in the chorus, while another got a good job in a five-and-dime store as h girl. But the third one, a creature named Dora, was too y even to lift her feet out of the oven if her shoes were burning. Well, one day Dora was lying out in the garden shaking out sevens with a pair of dice when one of the bones rolled into a nearby pond. Dora tried to fish it out with a hairpin, but for once this handy article was no use, and just as Dora was seeing rosy pictures of her old man, the king, giving her a clip on the ear, a voice from the pond S! ay, kid, would you like to get that there dice?” For a minute Dora thought it was one of them Channel swimmers or something; then she collects her wits, whieh wasn’t much, and replies: “Say, would I like a swell corned- beef sandwich with mustard and a stein of steam beer? Well, just as the king and his daughters were sitting down to supper in the kitchen, there's a rap on the door and a voice outside Sy “Dora, open the door!” So Dora goes to the door and who should it be hut the frog. He leaps in and goes over to the king and tells him the whole story, how Dora had two- timed him and he would see his lawyer. The old man got scared and ordered his daughter to go through with the agreement. ‘Then the frog made Dora feed him with her own spoon and she nearly got the heebies doing it. After dinner the old man and the frog smoked a good cigar and talked and then the frog turns to Dora. “Well, kid,” he says. “now I've got to sleep; I've got an important conference to-morrow.” So the frog follows her upstairs and when she got up there she was so mad she grabbed him and threw him against the wall with enough force zk, (Continued on page 31) “Shut up till I tell this gentleman how to get to the Museum.” comicbooks.com
