What you’re looking at

This is a serialized comic strip following a character named Burdock Combes through various misadventures. The six-panel narrative shows Combes as an apparent rube or country fellow encountering urban complications—he's kicked out of a rooming house, confronted by a landlord about unpaid rent, physically thrown out (panel 3), knocked down (panel 4), and finally confronted by what appears to be a landlady or proprietor.
