A TWENTIETH CENTURY EVENT — SAVING A Day NE of the events of the beginning of the century is the inauguration of the ‘Twentieth Century | Limited” between New York and Chicago by the New York Central and Lake Shore railroads. This train goes into service June 15th, 1902, and will run daily thereafter, leaving New York at 2.45 P. M., arriving Chicago at 9.45 next morning; leaving Chicago at 12. 30 noon, arriving Grand Central Station, New York, at g.30 next morning. This is beyond all question the fastest long distance train in the world ; the 980 miles between New York and Chicago being covered in exactly twenty hours, including all stops and slow-downs.
