What you’re looking at
This page primarily showcases a **1912 presidential campaign banner** featuring the "Full Dinner Pail"—a Republican symbol of prosperity under McKinley and Roosevelt. The banner depicts two men (likely Taft and Sherman, the Republican ticket) flanking a dinner pail, invoking the promise of economic abundance. Judge, a Republican-leaning satirical magazine, offered these banners to campaign clubs. The page also contains theater criticism discussing vaudeville acts and one-act plays, plus various product advertisements (Williams' Shaving Stick, Schlitz beer emphasizing proper aging, Cascarets laxatives, and illustrated "Pictures of the American Girl"). The "Full Dinner Pail" referenced the 1900 campaign slogan contrasting Republican prosperity with Democratic recession fears—a message Judge was actively promoting through merchandise sales to supporters.

“ JUDGE" AT THE THEATRE. (Continued from poge 1.) always for themselves, at least for their clever interpreters and for their authors, who are as a rule fledgeling dramatists, In European capi- tals this sort of thing serves as a stage nursery and for breaking in many a talented litera colt. Here a one-act play is considered as mu a drug on the market as a five-act tragedy in verse. Some of the vaudeville offerings in this line which are recent enough to be at the present writing unforgotten are Minnie Duprée’s sym- pathetic bit, "* Cinderella at the ‘Phone; Syd- ney Drew's * When Two Hearts are Won,” the very title of which, in its ghastly play upon words, betrays a plentiful lack of wit some- where; Katharyn Osterman’s ‘* Editor,” who wouldn’t last a minute on JUDGE; and a rather wobbly four-cornered skeich called ** The Sur- prise Party,” which commendably employs in its female roles the dainty Blanche Homan and the emotional Grace Belasco. But the cleverest act of all, according to Jupce’s decision, is that of Mile, Marzeila’s cockatoos. There is not a word of — an enormous advantage to begin with. There are some very pretty birds in the company, but they attend strictly to business, are never stuck themselves, and do not ogie the audience, While they make no pretense of being singers, et their voices are not a bit more raucous than those of certain tenors, baritones and sopranos who are occasionally turned loose on the same stage. Naturally a number of theatres open their houses with hold-overs from last season. For there is our old friend, ‘* The Great Ben-Hur,” at the Williams’ “The Only Kind that Wont SOLD EVERYWHERE. The cause of bil- iousness is the lack of age—too much haste to put the beer on the market. To ferment beer thor- oughly requires a process of months, Without it the fer- mentation takes place in your stom- ach. That is the cause of biliousness. Hurried beer is un- healthful.
