Mrs. Hohmboddie —" Dear, I met a lot of people at the lect- ure to-day who believe in spirits.”” Mr. Hohmboddie—“ What sort of spirits ?” Mrs. Hohmboddie —“You know very well I don’t mean ¢hat sort of spirits, and you needn't try to be funny.” Mr. Hokmboddie —“ Some persons I know are funny with- out trying.” Mrs, Hohmboddie—" Or you imagine they are. But, oh, dear me! I don’t see how any one can have such a strange sort of faith. To believe that spirits exist after death!" 1. “Nope.
