This issue features science fiction adventure stories. The short novel "Who Rides the Tiger" by Wynne N. Whiteford concerns Edison North, Earth's first representative to the Galactic Federation Council, traveling to Xaron. Opposition forces attempt to prevent his arrival—hired assassins wait on Morak, a waystation between Earth and his destination, armed with Xarian weapons to kill him. North, boarding the Earth ship Yttria, displays resourcefulness and knowledge unusual for someone claiming never to have left the Solar System.

Kenneth Bulmer's novelette "The Halting Hand" involves Earth scientists on the brink of space travel being blocked by a Machine preventing their departure for fifty years. Short stories include "Venus Trap" by Robert Silverberg and "The Easy Way" by Lan Wright. Kenneth Johns contributes the article "Time for Moderns."
