This issue of the British science fiction monthly features novelettes by major authors of the era. Brian W. Aldiss's "Segregation" concerns a crash-landed human survivor who has lived twenty years on the alien planet Kakakakaxo among a civilization of intelligent small reptilian creatures ("pigmies"), raising questions about reliability of anthropological knowledge derived from a single informant. John Wyndham contributes "The Thin Gnat-Voices." Four short stories round out the fiction: "Outside" by Sydney J. Bounds, "Keepers of the House" by Lester del Rey, "Tower for One" by John Kippax, and "The Shadow People" by Arthur Sellings. A nonfiction article by Kenneth Johns titled "Life at Last" is included. The issue also contains Leslie Flood's guest editorial on recent science fiction books, including reviews of Asimov's The Naked Sun, Heinlein's Double Star, and Finney's The Clock of Time.
