# Catalog Note

El Botín Invisible (The Invisible Spoils), by Clark Carrados, is a science fiction adventure spanning multiple narrative threads. The opening depicts a starship expedition to the planet Xvinius, where the ship's doctor dismisses the native population as mentally infantile despite their physical beauty, comparing them to lotus-eaters. The natives, however, possess psychic powers and secretly plan to send ten invisible emissaries aboard the spacecraft to Earth, where they will acquire advanced knowledge to restore their civilization's former greatness.

The narrative shifts to Earth, where an elderly chemistry professor named Chilmington encounters a mysterious foreign woman named Jana Kroog, who lures him into her apartment and renders him unconscious through an inexplicable psychic method. A parallel sequence introduces Guy Kelvor, a man living in rural isolation, visited by a woman named Adela Batt. The fragmented text suggests themes of infiltration, seduction, and hidden alien presence on Earth.
