# Captain Hazzard: Python Men of Lost City (May 1938)

The debut issue of Captain Hazzard magazine features a complete action-mystery novel by Chester Hawks as its lead story. "Python Men of Lost City" introduces Captain Hazzard, described as a "peer of perilous adventure and master of modern science," who confronts the Phoenix and his army of reptile-skinned Python Men after a murder spectacle aboard the Phoenix vessel. The novel concerns Hazzard's response to these bizarre antagonists and their sinister schemes.

The issue also contains three short stories: "Boomerang Bluff" by Clint Douglas, featuring a gentleman crook at the races; "Sky-High Outcast" by Cliff Howe, following pilot Buck and an aerial rivalry; and "Devil's Deadline" by Ralph Powers, set in the Balkans with an American newspaperman protagonist investigating international intrigue. The cover art is by Norman Saunders.
