Brigitte en Acción

This pulp magazine issue contains "Another Star on the Flag" ("Otra estrella en la bandera"), a spy-adventure serial by Lou Carrigan featuring secret agent Brigitte Montfort.

The story opens with Brigitte, described as the CIA's most dangerous international operative, practicing advanced judo (the Itsutsu no kata, or "kata of the Five Principles") with her Japanese master, Kurita. Her superior, Charles Alan Pitzer, interrupts to brief her on an urgent crisis: the fictional South American nation of Santa Pascua, armed with Soviet weaponry and owing Russia eighty million dollars, has inexplicably declared war on the United States. Washington views this as absurd yet suspects Soviet involvement. Fearing this could trigger World War III, CIA leadership dispatches Brigitte to Santa Pascua under the alias Marina Dolores to investigate Soviet intentions behind the declaration. Despite her apprehension about the dangerous assignment, Brigitte accepts the mission, departing immediately for Ecuador en route to the capital.
