# "Las Fauces del Dragón" by Clark Carrados

This detective thriller follows investigator Telley Southman as he takes a mysterious case involving the disappearance of Digby Farlane and £20,000. The narrative alternates between Southman's encounter with private investigator Dolly Painter and his seduction by lawyer Lane Bullock, and his arrival at Sysling Hill—a remote estate belonging to the elderly Lady Myrtle Dalymond. Upon arrival, Southman meets the taciturn Dr. Nayland Peters and agrees to a medical examination. That night, a dark-haired woman in white emerges from an adjoining door, warns Southman he is in grave danger, and urges him to flee the house immediately before disappearing back through the bathroom door. The mystery deepens when Southman questions whether she knows anything of Farlane's fate.
