This issue features three serials and additional short fiction. "The Call of Shining Steel" by Don Waters is a railroad serial appearing in its first part. Charles Neville Buck contributes part three of "Flight to the Hills," while George F. Worts concludes his four-part story "Throw Up Your Hands." Short works include "Crooks Welcome" by Walter A. Sinclair, stories by L. Paul and Fred MacIsaac, and another installment of "Hopalong Cassidy's Pal" by Clarence E. Mulford. Additional fiction includes pieces by Gordon Stiles, Joseph Gollomb, and Jack Woodford. The issue also features poetry by Glen Visscher, Frederick Schenck Schlesinger, Sonia Ruthele Novak, Charles Irvin Junkin, and Berton Braley. The next week's Fourth of July number will feature "Lure of the Wild" by Robert Pinkerton and a dog story titled "Captain" by Beatrice Ashton Vandesrift.
