This September 1955 issue of Amazing Stories features four science fiction stories. "One Man to Kill" by Paul W. Fairman depicts an alien invasion: a massive tubular spacecraft appears over Earth, proves invulnerable to human missiles including the advanced "Suzy Three," and systematically destroys major cities. After obliterating Seattle with a devastating energy weapon that causes agonizing deaths, it attacks New York, then lands in the East River near Riker's Island, where it freezes the surrounding water to create a platform.
Milton Lesser contributes "No Place to Live." C.H. Thames provides "My Name Is Mayhem," and Ivar Jorgensen offers "The Genius." The issue includes editorial, letters, and review departments.
