# FIVE DETECTIVE NOVELS MAGAZINE, Winter 1952
This issue comprises five detective novellas and several shorter crime stories. The lead novella, "Blood, Sweat and Jeers" by Donn Mullally, follows Kelly Wilson, security chief at Baron Starr's luxury desert resort casino. After being summoned to Starr's private residence at dawn, Kelly discovers a woman's corpse—clad only in undergarments—at the foot of the stairs, with Kelly tasked to prove his boss's innocence.
Other featured novellas include "Thanks for Murder" by Ted Stratton, "Angels Die Hard" by Paul Chadwick, "Death Takes No Holiday" by W. T. Ballard, and "Compliments of a Fiend" by Fredric Brown. Additional stories include "Killer Under Glass" and "The Dame from Chicago" by Benton Braden.
The magazine includes regular humor features ("Dopey Doings," cartoon sections) and miscellaneous departments. Period advertisements for home-study courses, weight-loss devices, and Rosicrucian correspondence materials appear throughout.
