Amazing Stories, May 1960

· May 1960

This document is not from a pulp magazine, but rather a U.S. Air Force Project Blue Book record from May 1960. It documents a UFO sighting reported by Dorothy Geisinger near Naples, New York. On May 26, 1960, at approximately 5 p.m., the witness observed a fishbowl-shaped sphere with a glassy appearance moving with tumbling motions over Naples Gorge, accompanied by a smaller sphere. After a small plane passed overhead, two additional orange-sized spheres were observed descending toward a nearby vineyard, followed by flat, shiny objects that disappeared into the ground. The witness speculated whether these objects might be related to aircraft fuel or could contain harmful spores. The Air Force response classified the sighting as having insufficient data for evaluation and requested completion of a detailed technical questionnaire for analysis by the Aerospace Technical Intelligence Center.
