Adventure Magazine Cover, April 1960

· April 1960

This document is not a pulp magazine but rather a military UFO incident report form (ATIC Form 329, dated September 25, 1952). It records an aerial sighting from April 9, 1960, southeast of Newfoundland. A comet-like object, described as baseball-sized with visible flame, was observed moving in an arc on a southwest course lasting 3.4 seconds. An airline pilot reported a similar object to the north minutes later. The form includes meteorological data noting ice crystals and cirrus clouds at 20,000 feet, with wind speeds of 249 degrees at 30 knots. The official conclusion identifies the sighting as "probably meteor," though notes indicate the object's reappearance suggests possible reassessment. The remainder of the OCR is too heavily degraded to reliably transcribe.
