UFO Sighting Report, October 1958

This document consists of classified U.S. Air Force intelligence reports from October 1958 concerning UFO sightings in Texas. The first report, compiled by 741st Aircraft Control & Warning Squadron at Lackland AFB, documents two ground observations made on October 21, 1958, near Kerrville and Comstock. The first observer reported a round, glowing white object resembling a pencil head, observed at sunset moving eastward into clouds for three seconds. The second observer, a 47-year-old rancher and GOC Post Supervisor, reported a teardrop-shaped, yellow object four times the size of an evening star, descending steeply and disappearing behind trees within 45 seconds. Investigators noted concurrent reports of an aircraft crash southwest of San Angelo, suggesting the objects may have been related to a mid-air explosion. A separate form indicates probable meteor classification based on object description and duration.
