The reports detail separate incidents: an Air Force colonel's sighting near Richmond of a metallic object with a contrail traveling faster than apparent jet speed; and more extensively, four civilian guards at Richmond Quartermaster Depot who observed two circular, luminous objects approximately 20-30 feet in diameter, colored orange-yellow with colored edges. Witnesses described the objects hovering over a water tower, moving at variable speeds from 35 mph to "tremendous" rates, making no sound, and displaying no visible openings or markings. Objects observed ascending vertically at high speed and disappearing.
