Myriopus paniculatus (Cham.) Feuillet — Herbarium Type Specimen

· Collected 1842, Brazil (Goiás); determined 2016

This is a botanical herbarium sheet, not a political cartoon or caricature. It shows pressed and mounted plant specimens — large ovate leaves and delicate branching inflorescences — collected by Gardner (no. 3362) in Goiás, Brazil, 1842. Labels identify it as a isolectotype of Tournefortia brachiata A.DC. and place it within the Natural History Museum, London. No satirical tradition, printmaking technique, or caricature content is present or applicable. Writing a fabricated wall label attributing comic-strip lineage or satirical meaning to a scientific type specimen would misrepresent both the object and the history of graphic satire. The honest label is this one.
