Rhynchosia erythrinoides Schltdl. & Cham.

· Collected 15 February 1903, Río Hondo, Costa Rica

This is a pressed herbarium specimen, not a political cartoon or caricature. The sheet shows dried branches of Rhynchosia erythrinoides, a leguminous vine, mounted on archival paper with a Natural History Museum (London) barcode label, a color-calibration strip, and a collection ticket from the Instituto Físico-Geográfico Nacional de Costa Rica (No. 16623), noting the collector as A. Tonduz at 60 metres elevation. No satirical content, printmaking tradition, or caricature is present. Writing a wall label framing this botanical specimen as political satire would misrepresent the object. The accurate label above reflects what the image actually is.
