Galianthe centranthoides (Cham. & Schltdl.) Cabral

· Collected 1897–1900; determined 1995

This is a herbarium voucher sheet, not a cartoon or caricature. It displays pressed and mounted specimens of Galianthe centranthoides, a Rubiaceae shrub native to central Paraguay, collected by Dr. Emil Hassler during his Plantae Paraguarienses expeditions. Multiple branches show opposite lanceolate leaves and cymose flower clusters. Adhesive strips secure the material; handwritten and printed labels record collection numbers (3314, 6976, 6516), locality (Cordillera Centralis), and isotype designations. A color-calibration target appears at upper right for photographic reproduction. Elsa L. Cabral of the Instituto de Botánica del Nordeste formally determined the species in 1995. This image has no connection to print satire, caricature, or the comic tradition.
